The founders of Koprol, which was recently relinquished by Yahoo! Indonesia, have announced two new technology projects, one of which has received support from a Silicon Valley firm.

Koprol, founded by Satya Witoelar and fellow developers Fajar Budiprasetyo, Leo Laksmana and Daniel Armanto, was bought by Yahoo! Indonesia in 2010.

However, following a below-par global performance, Yahoo! relinquished the site in June and subsequently returned all trademarks and domains related to Koprol to its original developers.

In a press release sent by Satya Witoelar to The Jakarta Post, Koprol informed that it was developing two mobile development initiatives.

"After two years of developing mobile products for Yahoo!, the Koprol engineering team has just founded Ice House - a software development shop based in Jakarta," the release said.

It added that Ice House would focus on developing mobile applications for start-ups and corporations in Silicon Valley.

"Ice House is managed by Koprol founders, Fajar Budiprasetyo & Daniel Armanto, and backed by Pacific Technology Partners, a private investment firm based in Palo Alto," the release continued.

Besides working on Ice House, the Koprol team is also working on a "small mobile innovation company that has just obtained the Koprol trademark from Yahoo!". (iwa)
