Beast is back with 'Midnight Sun'

A- A A+

After a year and two month hiatus, South Korean group Beast is releasing its fifth EP, entitled Midnight Sun on July 22, which features six new tracks.

The six tracks tell various stories of love and life, according to a press release from Beast's management company, Cube Entertainment, which was sent to The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.

The EP includes a pre-released single, "Midnight" and a lead single "Beautiful night".

"'Beautiful Night' is a powerful electro-synth pop track that redefines Beast’s image," the release reads.

"Wasn’t me" and "Your day off" offer funky melodies and lyrics. In addition, Beast’s signature slow ballads "When I miss you" and "Dream girl" provide comfort to listeners.

The group, comprising front man Yoon Doo-joon, Jang Hyun-seung, Yong Jun-hyung, Yang Yo-seob, Lee Gi-kwang and Son Dong-woon, visited Jakarta in March during its first world tour titled "Beautiful Show".

They were visiting 17 cities in 12 different countries in Asia, Europe, North America and South America during the tour. (iwa)
