Budget carrier Indonesia AirAsia (IAA) is going to increase its flight frequency from Surabaya and Denpasar in anticipation of surging demand around the Idul Fitri exodus.
IAA president director Dharmadi said that the airline had increased its Surabaya-Denpasar service from twice to three times daily and the Denpasar-Yogyakarta service from one flight a day to two flights, from Tuesday.
The airline is also offering a special price to customers flying from Surabaya to Bali starting at Rp 278,900 (US$29.28) and Rp 514,000 from Bali to Yogyakarta.
The special offer was available for the booking period starting on Wednesday for travel between Aug. 17 to Aug. 27, he said.
The government forecast a 10 percent increase in airline passengers during the Idul Fitri exodus this year, from 2,987,081 last year to 3,385,788 passengers this year.
