Despite strict regulations, numerous unregistered foreign food products and cosmetics can easily be found in supermarkets across Indonesia.

Indeed! The system is very good, and I do like the e-registration system. But the human resources are disappointing.

I have been involved in the online ML process with low risk products since March 2012, (with complete documents as requested) and some of them are still ongoing — going back and forth like a ping pong game.

Personal opinion and personal mood of the evaluator are most likely involved.

Even though all the documents have been completed as requested by the BPOM Manager on duty and the evaluator, you can be sure the on-line registration will be rejected more than once.

It will take so much of your energy and time. Sometimes I do believe what most people say: “If they can make it difficult — why should they make it easy?”

I do not agree when they say that low risk products can be registered in seven days. There is no standard procedure, and every evaluator has their own personal opinion.
