Exhibition

Batik exhibition and fashion show, Eksobatika 2012, will be held from July 20 until Aug. 26 at Grand Indonesia shopping mall, Central Jakarta. Eksobatika 2012, raises Ramadhan as its theme, so you will experience a mix of Ramadhan atmosphere and Indonesia fashion glam. There will be some designs from Alleira, Iwan Tirta, Mumtaaz Butik, Lasale Collage and many more. On Aug. 26, Guruh Soekarno Putra will present to deliver a talkshow and fashion show. Besides the exhibition, there will also be traditional dance performances and other activities, such as workshops of batik painting and angklung musical performances for children.

Culinary

As an event for those who want to observe something different this Ramadhan, the culinary expo, called Kampung Jajan Semanggi, held from July 20 until Aug. 17, is at sky dining Plaza Semanggi. You will find different menus from what are usually found in such luxurious places. Taste traditional food, such as ketoprak (Javanese history-based plays), ketupat tahu (tofu and rice cake in vegetable salad), kerak telor (egg crust) and other traditional food in the gazebo while seeing Jakarta’s city lights from a skyscraper. But it is not only food; you will also be provided entertainment with musical performances, so you will not feel bored. Over the weekend you can see other performances, such as Muslim fashion shows and music. It is such a suitable place to go with friends or
family for breaking the fast together.

Cinema

If you miss the presence of an artistic movie, Arthouse Cinema at GoetheHaus, Menteng, it can be one of the best places to go. As this program is held monthly, movie lovers do not need to wait long to watch. This Aug. 7 there will be Touch The Sound, a German movie directed by Thomas Reidelsheimer, with a duration of about 91 minutes. Moreover, there will be three documentary movies on Aug. 10. The event will start from 7 p.m. at GotheHaus, Menteng.
