President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono are scheduled to have ifthar (breaking the fast) with the National Police at the latter's headquarters on Wednesday. The President and his wife are scheduled to arrive at 5 p.m.
“The agenda is a fast-breaking event of the National Police family with the President and First Lady,” National Police spokesman, Brig. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar, was quoted as saying by kompas.com on Wednesday.
Several ministers, House of Representatives leaders and former National Police chiefs were also scheduled to attend the event, including the leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Boy added.
“We will have VIP guests, including Cabinet ministers and KPK leaders,” Boy said.
Boy emphasized that the meeting had nothing to do with the ongoing investigations into the procurement of driving simulators by the KPK and the police. “This event had already been scheduled long before [the case surfaced],” he said.(fzm/iwa)
