The KPK said it would verify the claim that former health minister Siti Fadilah Supari accepted kickbacks over a procurement at the Health Ministry in 2007.

“If we have sufficient evidence, we will open a new investigation,” KPK spokesman Johan Budi told reporters.

At the Jakarta Corruption Court on Thursday, former head of the Health Ministry’s Crisis Mitigation Center, Rustam Pakaya, said he gave Rp 1.27 billion in traveler’s checks to Siti. Prosecutors are seeking a 20-year jail term for Rustam.
