Everybody likes staying healthy.

Those who like to keep physically fit can head to duniafitnes.com for a wealth of information about a broad range of tips, tricks and advice for keeping their bodies in top condition.

“It is a portal about fitness, diet, supplements and health. Visitors don’t need to register to access the website,” chief executive officer of Jaya Sportindo Co. Ltd., Denny Santoso said.

The website grew from his personal blog, dennysantoso.com, which was created in 2008 to discuss dietary regiments. As Denny received a number of questions about the best physical exercises and tips for losing weight from his blog’s visitors, he decided to create duniafitnes.com and launched it in 2009.

The expanded website reached beyond proper nutrition to discuss fitness and physical training guides.

“I imported diet articles from my personal blog to duniafitnes.com in 2011, so visitors would not get confused in searching between the two,” Denny said.

Now duniafitnes.com has around 230,000 unique visitors with 1.4 million page views every month. The mobile app had been downloaded 18,000 times in July. The website also features a forum where users can discuss and share experiences in fitness and bodybuilding.

Realizing that there was need for social interaction, Denny co-founded sixreps.com with Sanny Gaddafi to create a social networking website for fitness enthusiasts that allows users to post and share training logs, photos of body development progress, periodic updates of weight, body fat percentages, and circumference of specific body parts.

“We can’t discuss the web traffic statistics of sixreps.com because we are in negotiations with an investor from America,” he said.

“This year, we are getting more serious in developing duniafitnes.com by adding a team in our office for taking care the website’s content and video.”

One registered duniafitnes.com user, Apriandi Aditya, said that he could exchange tips and tricks by browsing the site. Moreover, he said, the websites users not only include fitness enthusiasts who span the range from beginners to professionals, but also include nutritionists and physicians.

“I think that the answer for everything about fitness, physical exercise and health can be found in there [the website],” he said.

Apriandi, who works at a private bank in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, is passionate about sports. He began going to the gym only to strengthen his legs for basketball and motor racing in 2008.

After six months, he became interested in bodybuilding, inspired and motivated by Indian actors who have athletic bodies.

He stumbled across the website when searching for exercise routines and dietary supplements in May. Because of his curiosity, he decided to register in the forum in June and has become the most active user in the website’s discussion forum ever since.

“I joined sixreps.com for networking and making friends that have similar interests. Perhaps it has one weakness — it is not promoted strongly enough,” he said.

“People are still infatuated using other social networking websites.”
