The government has set a pessimistic economic growth target for the year 2013, according to the 2013 state financial note. The note revealed that the government aimed for 6.8 percent economic growth next year.
This target is at the lower end of growth expectation based on the previous deliberations between the govenment and the House of Representatives on macro-economic assumptions.
Based on the assumptions, the government had estimated growth could be achieved between 6.8 percent and 7.2 percent.
Previously, deputy finance minister Mahendra Siregar had said that the government might go for a more modest growth target in 2013 due to the ongoing global crisis. (swd)
