5.7-magnitude earthquake jolts southwest Banda Aceh

An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted southwestern Banda Aceh on Monday at 6:18 p.m., the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported.
The agency stated on its website that the epicenter was located 440 kilometers away from Banda Aceh, at a depth of 74 kilometers.
The earthquake, the agency reported, did not trigger a tsunami.(riz)
