Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has chosen Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan to be his running mate, completing his party’s ticket as he tries to repair an image damaged by negative Democratic advertising and shift the trajectory of a campaign that’s seen him lose ground to President Barack Obama.
The vice presidential selection will dominate headlines, and Romney’s team relentlessly teased the announcement for weeks. Romney made his announcement Saturday to supporters via a phone app, saying — quote — “Mitt’s Choice for VP is Paul Ryan.”
Your comments:
Hopefully it will still be at least one or two US election cycles before the Republicans come back into the White House.
The Democrats, with Barack Obama as president, have forged a US foreign policy that is acceptable for many nations. The people of the world now see the US as a nation of human beings, not as cruel individuals who like to ride over others.
The US economy has broken down since the Republicans were in power for two terms under president Bush. Now the US economy is rising again — not as fast as expected, but the foundation of it economy is based on sustainability and not a house of cards.
Today under Obama, every American has health insurance. The health insurance is not as good as what Obama planned. It was corrupted by Republicans. As Bill Clinton said, it would be a disaster if Mitt Romney is elected. But it is difficult to predict what US citizens have in mind.
Hopefully they will be more enlightened and educated and look past their borders.
