The West Java provincial administration plans to close all pig farms in the Muslim majority province following the implementation of a ban on pig farming in a provincial draft ordinance concerning animal husbandry and animal health.

We have to separate religion and state, just like in the US and other Western countries.
If we go on like this, we will not be able to compete with Malaysia and Singapore. How will we ever become a developed country?

The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) also declared smoking as haram. Are we shutting down cigarette sellers and manufacturers next?

Pig farmers in those area should try to modernize their methods and hygiene. That would be the only reason they could otherwise be closed.
