Ministers to inspect Sail Morotai preparations

Coordinating People’s Welfare Minister Agung Laksono is scheduled to visit Daruba, Morotai Island, in North Maluku province on Sunday to inspect final preparations for the Sail Morotai event, a member of the organizing committee said on Friday.

“The minister will come to Daruba along with several other ministers, including the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Sarif Cicip Sutardjo and Public Housing Minister Djan Faridz,” N Iksan said.

The ministers want to inspect the arrangements that have been made for the transportation and accommodation of participants of the international maritime event, as well as visit the location of the Sail Morotai peak event in Juanga village, South Morotai subdistrict.

The event will be held on Sept.15-17.

The Sail Morotai organizing committee and the Morotai Island administration have jointly constructed the necessary infrastructure and facilities needed to ensure the event’s success, Antara news agency reported.

Djan stated that 99 percent of the preparations had been completed.
