Gradual increases in electricity rates slated to start in January will not hurt the poor and small businesses, a senior minister says. “The electricity rate will be raised gradually to minimize its impact on consumers,” Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik said to reporters after a post-Idul Fitri gathering at the ministry.

Your comments:

It would benefit the poor people and the overall economy much more to ensure free and better education, instead of spending trillions on cheap energy, which will almost only benefit the richest people.

I hope the politicians will do what is necessary to allocate the country’s money more efficiently, and in a way that will benefit the future, the poor, and the middle-class.
