Police spokesman to replace Djoko Susilo as police academy chief
National Police chief spokesman Insp. Gen. Anang Iskandar will replace Insp. Gen. Djoko Susilo as the National Police Academy chief after the latter’s entanglement in corruption allegations related to the procurement of driving simulators.
A list provided to journalists on Monday also stated that Jakarta Police deputy chief Brig. Gen. Suhardi Alius would replace Anang as National Police spokesman.
Suhardi’s post will be filled by Brig. Gen. Sudjarno, who currently serves as the National Police Internal Affairs unit chief.
Meanwhile, National Counter-terrorism Agency deputy chief Insp. Gen. Tito Karnavian has been posted as the Papua Police chief, replacing Insp. Gen. Bigman Lumban Tobing. Bigman was reassigned as an analyst at National Police headquarters, according to the circular.
Jakarta Police operational chief Sr. Comr. Agung Budi Maryoto will also be promoted to National Police’s Traffic Corps deputy chief, replacing Brig. Gen. Didik Purnomo who was also removed due to his alleged involvement in the graft case.
Last month, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named both Djoko and Didik suspects in relation to alleged graft related to the purchase of driving simulators for the National Police’s Traffic Corps in 2011. Both were removed from their posts a few days later. (lfr)
