Flag carrier Garuda Indonesia has officially inked a partnership deal with Liverpool Football Club And Athletic Ground Limited (Liverpool FC) on Monday making the company the global official airline for the club.
The three-year deal was signed between the president director of Garuda Indonesia Emirsyah Satar, marketing and sales director Elisa Lombatoruan and the managing director of Liverpool FC Ian Ayre and financial director Philip Nash in Liverpool.
The signing event was witnessed by the Indonesian ambassador to the United Kingdom Hamzah Thayeb and legendary Liverpool player Ian Rush.
“We are glad to be able to cooperate with Liverpool FC, because it is one of the best football clubs and has fans throughout the world,” Emirsyah Satar said in a press release received by The Jakarta Post Digital on Wednesday.
Garuda will be given space for promotional flashes during matches at Liverpool’s Anfield football stadium. The LED promotion will run 12 times per match, each with a duration of 30 seconds.
The promotion at Anfield is expected to improve Garuda’s global branding, which may pave a way for its worldwide expansion.
“It is an honor for us to cooperate with Garuda Indonesia, one of the best brands in the aviation industry,” said Ian Ayre.(iwa)
