Jakarta leads medal tally in PON

It’s looking promising for Jakarta to become the overall champion of the 18th National Games (PON) in Pekanbaru, Riau. As of Thursday afternoon, with only three more medals available on the last day, they lead in the medal tally.
Jakarta has so far collected 105 gold, 101 silver and 110 bronze medals, followed by West Java (99-79-101) and East Java with (85-83-85), tribunnews.com reported.
The event’s closing ceremony, which will be attended by Vice President Boediono, will start at 7 p.m. Thursday at Riau Main Stadium. (iwa)
