Fourth seed Indonesian badminton player Sony Dwi Kuncoro has taken the Indonesia Open Grand Prix gold prize after defeating compatriot Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka in straight sets on Sunday.
Sony beat his opponent 21-11, 21-11 at the Palembang Sports and Convention Center in Palembang, South Sumatra.
Sony paved his way to the final after ousting China's Gao Huan in the semifinals 21-19, 21-8 score.
Meanwhile, Hayom beat compatriot Alamsyah Yunus in a tight rubber losing the first set 19-21, but turned the tables to take the final two sets 21-10, 21-14.
In the women's doubles final, Japanese first seeds Misaki Matsumoto and Ayaka Takahashi beat second seeds Eom Hye-won and Jang Ye-na from South Korea, 1-12, 12-21 and 21-13, kompas.com reported.
