JAKARTA: Actress Tya Ariestya has been appointed as the ambassador for taekwondo by the Indonesia taekwondo association.
The appointment of the 26-year-old starlet was conducted by the association’s chairman Marciano Norman on Sunday during the 40th anniversary of the World Taekwondo Federation.
The star, who loves and practices the martial art, has pledged to develop the sport in Indonesia.
“I can motivate other athletes to improve,” she said as quoted by kapanlagi.com on Monday.
She also suggested that taekwondo become an extracurricular activity for students.
