Pertamina oil pipe explodes,
killing three in S. Sumatra

A pipeline of state oil firm PT Pertamina in Tempino-Plaju in Bayung Lencir, Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra exploded on Wednesday, killing three people.

Reports say that the explosion has also injured dozens

“Initial information says there are three casualties.” said Robert MV, assistant manager for external relations in South Sumatra.

He said the pipeline was under supervision of oil driller PT. Elnusa.

Spokesman for South Sumatra Police Adj. Sr. Comr. R Djarod Padakova confirmed the incident but could not give an exact number of casualties.

“Musi Banyuasin Police Precinct Chief is on the way to the location. The initial information says that there are 10 people have suffered burns, I’m afraid there are more trapped in the fire,” he said as quoted by tempo.co.(iwa)
