Bali governor apologizes
to bombing survivors

Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika has apologized to victims of the 2002 Bali bombing tragedy.

“There is not enough attention given to the families of victims and the survivors,” Pastika told reporters ahead of the 10th commemoration of the Bali bombing in Denpasar, Bali, on Wednesday.

Pastika said that the Bali administration would collect data on the families of victims and the survivors to be able implement real steps to help them.

“How’s their condition? Where are they? We don’t know because the provincial administration does not have the data,” Pastika said.

More than 200 people-- most of whom were foreigners—were killed when terrorists detonated bombs at Sari Club cafe and Paddys Pub on Jl. Legian in Kuta, Bali, on Oct. 12, 2002. (swd)
