The dossier on two more suspects in the 2012 National Games (PON) graft scandal were submitted on Friday to the Jakarta Corruption Court by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The case will be tried within the next 14 days.

The two suspects are Lukman Abbas of Riau’s Youth and Sports Agency and Riau legislative councilor from the National Mandate Party (PAN) Taufan Andoso. “Today we completed the dossier of Lukman Abbas and Taufan Andoso. The trial should start within two weeks after submission of the dossier,” KPK spokesperson Johan Budi said on Friday.

The graft scandal centers on the Youth and Sports Ministry’s National Games project held in Riau province in 2012. The project’s initial budget, Rp 900 billion (US$93.7 million) was doubled after several Riau legislative councilors expedited a revision to bylaw No. 6/2012 on the national games budget.

The KPK named 13 suspects in the case, including Rahmat Syahputra, an employee of construction firm PT Pembangunan Perumahan and Eka Dharma Putra, an official with Riau’s Youth and Sports Agency. Rahmat and Eka have been sentenced to a two-and-a-half-year prison term.
