Tanah Abang-Serpong train to operate until midnight

Starting from Nov. 1, Train operator PT KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) will operate the electronic commuter train, which serves the Tanah Abang-Serpong route, until midnight.

“Commuters will be able to catch the latest train from Tanah Abang Station to Serpong at midnight,” said KCJ spokeswoman Eva Chairunnisa on Monday. “Currently, the latest train from the station departs at 11 p.m”.

In order to improve services in Tangerang, KCJ is also considering operating a female-only train, which will connect Tanah Abang and Serpong, according to Eva.

“We’re still studying the costs of operating a women-only train on this route,” she said.

At the current time, female-only trains are only available on the Bogor-Jakarta route, even though carriages for women can be found on all routes. (han)
