A few days ago, a woman fled Singapore after posting some emotionally-charged remarks on Facebook to which she received a stream of hostile feedback.
The bone of her contention was what she deemed as noise coming from wedding parties held in public spaces, known in Singapore as “void decks”, under housing blocks. (By Dewi Anggraeni, Melbourne)
Your comments:
Almost all people I know would be very concerned about expressing their opinions once their safety has been compromised.
If they feel secure and live comfortably in a secured environment, these people are normally the guardians of freedom of expression and the like. Insulting, cartooning, ridiculing, or looking down upon somebody else is ok to them, regardless of the thousands of people that died because of their freedom of expression.
Their attitude and behavior would usually change drastically if one or two of their siblings were among those killed.
