refer to a letter titled “Extending school hours,” (The Jakarta Post, Oct. 25).
After no English and science subjects, here comes another ridiculous plan with poor reasoning, a decision taken without any in depth study from our so-called Education and Culture Ministry.
The best option for the majority of citizens is this: Don’t have kids if you don’t want them to grow and be educated in this country’s messed up education system.
Another option (for the rich): send your kids to extra school lessons (to make up for the lack of such things at the local school) and send them abroad when they’re old enough.
