Seventeen-year-old student Chandra Suoth was allegedly stabbed to death with a spear, and three others, Et Gonibala, 22, Handi Bono, 20, and Rio Mongilong, 19, were rushed to the hospital after being shot with rubber bullets during the clash. Two officers, Brig. Erik and Brig. Awaludin Paputungan, were hit by stones.
Bolaang Mongondow Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Enggar Broto Seno said that the police were forced to use rubber bullets to disperse the angry mob. “We shot tear gas, but eventually decided to use rubber bullets because they did not stop fighting,” he said, as quoted by tempo.co.
