KPK slaps travel ban on
another company executive
in Hambalang case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has slapped a travel ban on Nany Meilana Ruslie, the president director of PT Global Daya Manunggal, a construction company involved in the graft-ridden construction of the Hambalang sports complex in West Java.

Nany has been banned from leaving the country as the nation’s antigraft body investigates possible corruption links to the Youth and Sports Ministry, which oversees the Hambalang sports complex, KPK spokesperson Johan Budi told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.

“The travel ban will be in effect for the next six months,” he said.

The KPK’s decision to put restrict Nany’s travel was based on consideration that the commission might need pivotal information from her, the spokesman added.

Previously, the commission has also imposed a travel ban on Mahfud Suroso, director of PT Duta Sari Citralaras, another subcontractor involved in the Hambalang project.

Aside from the new travel ban, the KPK also summoned on Wednesday several individuals for questioning, including Wisler Manalu, the chief of the Hambalang project’s tender committee, and Lisa Lukitawati, a company executive who reportedly has connections with the Youth and Sports Ministry.

So far, the KPK has only named one suspect in the case – Dedy Kusdinar, the chief of the Youth and Sports Ministry’s financial and internal affairs bureau.

It has been widely reported that Wisler Manalu and Mahfud Suroso are the next in line to be named suspects by the KPK.(iwa)
