Malaysia-based low cost carrier Air Asia Indonesia launched Saturday new domestic routes, comprising Medan – Banda Aceh, Medan – Pekanbaru, Surabaya – Jakarta and Surabaya – Semarang.
Air Asia Indonesia president director Dharmadi pledged that the airline would open more routes in the future.
“There are so many regions in the country we don’t reach that we would like to serve,” he said in a statement.
The company currently operates 20 Airbus A320 aircraft and plans to add more aircraft in line with its expansion plan.
The airline flies from Medan to Banda Aceh once a day and to Pekanbaru three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. From Surabaya, Air Asia flies to Semarang once a day and three times a day to Jakarta. (swd)
