Comment: Sukhoi deemed airworthy

N

strong>Nov. 28, p. 1

The Transportation Ministry says that the Russian-made Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft is airworthy, even though investigators are still probing the crash that took place in West Java in May.

The ministry’s Civil Aviation Directorate validated a type certificate for the Superjet 100 on Tuesday, clearing the way for Sukhoi to deliver orders for the 100-seat passenger aircraft to local carriers Sky Aviation and Kartika Airlines, who are expected to immediately put the aircraft into operation.

Your comments:

By stating that the Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft is airworthy and even clearing the way for delivery of the planes, although the cause of the crash that happened in May has not yet been determined, the Transportation Ministry shows its lack of professionalism.

The lucrative deal is far more important than the safety and lives of hundreds of future Sukhoi Superjet 100 passengers.

Human lives in Indonesia are, indeed, uncommonly cheap, and so easily sacrificed on the altar of avarice and greed.
