n a statement that could be seen as a sign of the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) desperation in the ongoing Hambalang graft case, Abraham Samad, the commission’s chairman, said that new evidence for the case would soon be revealed by God.
He said as part of the graft case process, KPK investigators had also relied on prayer to help guide them.
“We are hopeful that the evidence could be brought to us. We are used to dealing with trouble. God will help bring the evidence to light,” Abraham said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
When asked if the KPK had made significant progress in the Hambalang probe, Abraham said: “Not yet. But we continue to pray for progress,” he said.
Separately, deputy KPK chairman Bambang Widjojanto said that the antigraft body investigators continued to make headway into the case.
Bambang denied speculation that the KPK had gone nowhere with its investigations.
“People have said we have hit a wall — this is not true. We are continuing with our investigation and in time, we will announce the result,” he said.
