ormer Democratic Party lawmaker Angelina Sondakh continues to maintain her innocence in the plethora of projects involving the Permai Group, a holding company belonging to the party’s former treasurer Muhammad Nazaruddin.
Angelina, a former beauty queen, rejected earlier testimony by several witnesses in the case including Mindo Rosalina Manulang, former director of the company.
Rosalina alleged she usually communicated with Angelina through BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) services. In some of these communications, they are thought to have discussed money they were planning to steal from the project referring to as “Apel Malang” for Rupiah and “Apel Washington” for US dollar.
At Friday’s hearing, however, Angelina maintained her previous position that she did not use a BlackBerry device at that time.
