Bandung residents celebrate NYE in the dark

The main power station of state electricity company PT PLN in Cigereleng, Bandung, West Java, caught fire on Monday night, resulting in a blackout in southern Bandung.
The affected areas include Cisirung, Jl. Mohamad Toha, Kopo Sayati, Cirangrang, Cibolerang, Taman Kopo, Sukamenak, Cigondewah, Arcamanik, Cicaheum, Dalem Kaum and part of Jl. Asia Afrika.
"A transformer with a capacity of 60 megavolt-ampere caught on fire at around 7 p.m.," PLN Bandung manager Agung Murdifi said as quoted by tempo.co.
Firefighters extinguished the fire at 8 p.m.
Agung said they were still investigating the cause of the fire and expected the electricity could be restored within 24-hour. (iwa)
