Two killed in crash involving minister’s son

Rasyid, the son of Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa, is reportedly the driver in of one of the cars involved in a fatal crash on the Jagorawi toll road, south of Jakarta early this morning.
Jakarta Police released a report on Tuesday that M Rashid Amirulloh, 22, was driving a BMW when he crashed into a Daihatsu Luxio at KM 3.5 of the Jagorawi toll road at around 5:45 a.m.
“We suspect that the driver was drowsy and lost control of his car,” the police announced.
Two passengers in the Luxio, 57-year-old Harun and 14-month-old M Raihan, were killed in the crash.
Three other passengers, Nung, Rifan and Supriyati, sustained minor injuries. The first two were taken to the Police's Dr. Sukanto Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, while the latter was taken to Christian University of Indonesia Hospital in Cawang, East Jakarta.
National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Suhardi Alius has confirmed that the driver of the BMW was Rasyid, the youngest son of Hatta.
Jakarta Police conducted a routine urine test for drugs and alcohol on Rasyid at the National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta. Test results had not been released as of Tuesday evening. (ypl)
