Girl allegedly forced to
drink alcohol, gang-raped
in Yogyakarta

A 15-year-old girl from Piyungan, Bantul regency, Yogyakarta, was allegedly forced to consume alcohol and then gang-raped by three men. The victim’s family reported the incident to the Bantul Police on Tuesday.

According to the family’s report a 19-year-old man, an acquaintance of the girl, identified as BG visited the victim at home on Monday morning.

“BG asked the victim to go shopping with him. They knew each other through a mutual friend. This was their first meeting,” Romadhon, the victim’s uncle, said.

BG, rather than taking the victim to the store as promised, took her to an empty house in Kepek Hamlet, Sewon, Bantul, where three men were waiting. BG left the victim alone with the men, who forced her to drink a cheap mix of alcoholic drinks and then gang-raped her.

A few hours later, BG returned and took the girl home. The girl told her parents about the incident, who later took her to Rajawali Citra Hospital.

Bantul Police crime unit chief Adj. Comr. Alaal Prasetya said that the police were currently investigating the case.

“We are optimistic that we will find the perpetrators,” Alaal said. (swd)
