Get ready to put your hands up. A trio of DJs from Swedish House Mafia will rock Jakarta in Eco Park in Taman Impian Jaya Ancol in North Jakarta on Jan. 19. The capital is one of several Asian cities that the DJs are slated to visit during their latest tour.

Formed in 2008, the Swedish dance music outfit comprises Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. Their first official single, “One (Your Name)”, received a warm welcome from audiences around the world.

Film

Suspense film director Alfred Hitchcock still charms movie lovers today. Bentara Budaya Jakarta will host another screening event of the film director’s movies after the similar program in December.

On Jan. 18, the center will hold a discussion with screenwriter Rayya Makarim and present three of Hitchcock’s films — Rope (1948), The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) and Vertigo (1958).

On Jan. 19, four Hitchcock films will be screened: North by Northwest (1959), Psycho (1960), The Birds (1963) and Family Plot (1976). For more information, please log on to bentarabudaya.com.

Visual art

It’s time for young artists to stand up. A group of 11 artists are showcasing their works in an exhibition titled “Animal Instinct”.

Using various media, such as painting, video art and performance art, the artists will explore the relationship between humans and the animal instinct as well as heir connection with their values in life and nature.

The free exhibition will run at Galeri Cipta III in Taman Ismail Marzuki in Central Jakarta from Jan. 4 to 13. For more information, please visit tamanismailmarzuki.com.
