PT Media Nusantara Citra (MNC) corporate secretary Arya Sinulingga has said the media conglomerate had no plans to purchase shares in TVOne and ANTV, two television companies controlled by PT Visi Media Asia (VIVA), a subsidiary of the Bakrie Group.
Arya’s statement was made in response to circulating rumors that MNC CEO Hary Tanoesoedibjo planned to buy TVOne and ANTV, which are controlled by the family of Aburizal Bakrie, the chairman of the Golkar Party.
“[The speculation] is not confirmed. We don’t have such a plan [to buy TVOne and ANTV],” Arya said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
