s many as 22 South Korean students from a number of universities visited elementary school SD Marsudi Utami and kindergarden TK Santa Ursula in Semarang, Central Java, to highlight the importance of sanitation.
The university students served as volunteers at the two schools from Jan. 25 to Feb. 2, building bathrooms and repainting school buildings.
They also introduced the young students to some traditional South Korean games like ddalgy (the game of death) and gongdang myogy (strawberry game).
“We are here to educate them on the importance of clean toilets,” said Lee Ji-hye, a student of Kyung-Sung University, Busan, South Korea.
The Korean students also participated in a cross-cultural program called “Korea — Indonesia Cultural Exchange Day — One Step Closer to Chingu”, held by students at the Sultan Agung Islamic University (Unissula).
