he Wahidin Sudirohusodo Makassar Hospital in South Sulawesi received a bomb threat on Tuesday. The threat, however, turned out to be a hoax.
The hospital’s general director, Abdul Kadir, said that an unknown person called the hospital operator at 10:50 a.m., saying that a bomb had been planted somewhere on the hospital’s grounds and would explode that day.
The hospital management immediately reported the threat to the Tamalanrea Police.
The Gegana bomb squad combed the hospital and its surrounding areas for about two hours but they did not find a bomb, said Tamalanrea Police chief Comr. Amiruddin. The threat, however, did not cause panic and hospital staff did not conduct an evacuation.
