Comment: Doing more with less for Indonesian workers

F

em>Feb. 1, p. 6

The 1970s were the golden age for social movements, with hippies struggling against a war-torn society through the means of rock and roll music and a euphoric love for humanity. They were all in it together, for the one humbling goal of world peace. (by Budi Akmal Djafar, Jakarta)

Your comments:

Although correct in his presumption about better training, (at least I think that’s what this so-called diplomat is saying) all he seems to do is blame Indonesia for the migrant worker abuse.

It goes back to the mentality that if a woman is raped then it’s the woman’s fault. Blah. Now what I think we should do is better inform our migrant workers of their rights while abroad.
