he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said on Friday that it had imposed a travel ban on two officials at meat importing company PT Indoguna Utama in relation to a bribery case centering on the government’s procurement of imported meat.

The two officials have been identified as Soraya Kusuma Effendi and Maria Elizabeth Liman, according to KPK spokesperson Johan Budi. Soraya is a member of the company’s board of commissioners, while Maria is its president director

The KPK, Johan said, also issued a travel ban for Denny P. Adiningrat, another witness in the case. “They are banned from overseas travel for 6 months starting Feb. 5,” Johan said.

The antigraft body detained four suspects, including former Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) chairman Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq, after investigators caught Arya Abdi Effendi and Juardi Effendi, directors at PT Indoguna Utama, handing over alleged bribes to Luthfi’s aide, Ahmad Fathanah.

KPK investigators confiscated Rp 1 billion (US$103,000) in cash from the back of a car belonging to Ahmad following his arrest. The company reportedly paid the bribe for a slot in the beef procurement project overseen by the Agriculture Ministry, which is led by PKS politician Suswono.
