tate-owned postal firm PT Pos Indonesia aims to generate additional income this year from its newly launched online store, Plasa Pos. The income would mostly come from shipping fees as the store’s products would be delivered using the firm’s logistics services, according to Pos Indonesia president director I Ketut Mardjana.
He added that the store’s first year contribution would not be very significant to the firm’s total revenues in 2013, citing the business’ novelty. He did not provide details of the expected income target.
The online store, which began operating last December, offers various products ranging from handicrafts to gadgets. Pos Indonesia collaborated with Singapore-based dealer, Connecting Life, for the provision of the store’s gadgets and luxury goods, Mardjana said on Thursday.
It currently partners with several small- and medium-scale enterprises for handicrafts, whose products are also sold at Sarinah department store.
