T

he self-styled “King of Dangdut”, Rhoma Irama, said he was serious about running in the 2014 presidential election.

“The voters are serious and I am also serious. I already have a game plan for the election,” Rhoma said as quoted by tribunnews.com.

Rhoma added that he would not resort to money politics during the campaign. “If I use money to achieve my political ambitions, that would not be good. That’s what sets me apart from other candidates,” he said.

Rhoma has been touring the country seeking support for his candidacy.

One of the political parties that might support his candidacy is the National Awakening Party (PKB).

PKB chairman Muhaimin Iskandar said that with Rhoma’s electability rating steadily improving, it may be possible that he would be chosen as a presidential candidate.
