T

anjung Duren police disinterred the grave of Yulia, 33, a resident of Empang Bahagia, West Jakarta, on Monday at the Tanah Cepe Public Cemetery in Karawaci, Tangerang, to perform an autopsy.

“We have exhumed Yulia’s corpse for autopsy, following a request filed by her family,” Tanjung Duren detectives chief Insp. Budi Setiawan said at the cemetery.

He said Yulia’s family became suspicious about the cause of her death after finding bruises on her dead body, although Yulia’s husband Hendro Firman told her family that she had tried to commit suicide on Sept. 14 last year. Yulia died after being treated for several hours at the Royal Taruma Hospital on Jl. Daan Mogot in West Jakarta. Budi said the results of the autopsy might lead officers to open an investigation into Yulia’s death.

“We are curious about the cause of Yulia’s death because we saw bruises on her body. Moreover, only Hendro Firman knew of the suicide [attempt],” said Cie Sun Lun, Yulia’s father.
