Trimedya has at least one year two resolve a number of alleged ethics breach cases, including the sex tape scandal involving PDI-P lawmaker Karolin Margret Natasa.
"I'm thankful that I have been entrusted with this responsibility amid rising criticism on the House's performance. We have a lot to do before the next lawmakers enter office," Trimedya told reporters.
The replacement was endorsed by the PDI-P party faction at the House to help Prakosa focus on preparation efforts for the upcoming gubernatorial election in Central Java.
"There is nothing special about the replacement. It's just a regular rotation. 'Pak' Prakosa had led the council for two years so we think that we just need to do another rotation, which is way we have tapped 'Pak' Trimedya to take over," PDI-P faction leader Puan Maharani said.
