he National Awakening Party (PKB) has appointed Andy Muawaiyah Ramli and Jazilul Fawaid to replace two of its lawmakers who it recently expelled from the House of Representatives.
Marwan Ja’far, the leader of PKB lawmakers in the House, said that the party dismissed Effendi Choirie and Lily Wahid, who he described as threats to the party. “Both of them are troublemakers. They often publicly attack the PKB, even though they were raised up and earned a living from the party.”
Their replacements were sworn in by House Speaker Marzuki Alie on Wednesday. Neither Effendi and Lily were in the audience.
Lily told reporters that she was not invited to the ceremony and that she had yet to receive a copy of a Presidential Decree expelling her from the House.
“I didn’t break any rules nor have I embarrassed the party. I can say that the PKB will lose in the upcoming elections if it continues to act like this.”
