BNI eyes Rp 250b from e-commerce

State–owned Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) is targeting five million online transactions worth Rp 250 billion (US$25 million) in the first year of its e-commerce payment services, a bank official says.

Director of consumer and retail Darmadi Susanto said the e-commerce services were fully supported by the BNI e-banking system with products such as BNI ATMs, SMS banking and DOKU Wallet, in cooperation with PT Nusa Satu Inti Artha.

“Our BNI ATM card holders will use the Virtual Card Number (VCN) in doing transactions,” he said Monday as quoted by kompas.com.

He said the bank had also cooperated with MasterCard International, a credit card provider, and many online shopping websites, like blandja, com to support the program.(nai/dic)
