akarta Governor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has called on students to be honest during the national exams, which start early next week.

“I’m not going to ask for anything, nor will I set a particular target. The most important thing is that students be honest when taking the national exams,” he said during a dialogue with dozens of Jakarta senior high school students in Central Jakarta on Wednesday.

“I’m not worried about target or results. I don’t want them to be encouraged to cheat [because of a target],” the governor added.

He said it would be the responsibility of each school to help students who fail the exam.

“Should some of the students fail the exam, the respective schools have to help them improve their capability instead of pushing them to cheat,” he pointed out.
