P

olice say a man had his motorcycle stolen early on Thursday after thieves pretended to fall off a motorcycle in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, only to steal his. Jakarta Police’s public relations staff member, Adj. Sr. Comr. Mahbub, said as quoted by kompas.com that the police were still investigating the case and he called on people to be more cautious and “avoid interactions with unknown people at night”.

Ari Budi Yanto, 25, a security guard working in the Kemayoran area, was buying food for himself and his colleagues on the night shift, upon returning, he tried to help a man whom he thought had fallen from his motorcycle. However, four of the “victim’s” friends came from behind and threatened him with a sickle. They took his Yamaha Mio motorcycle and fled.
