Jakarta Governor Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo has called on students to be honest during the national exams, which start early next week.

'I'm not going to ask for anything, nor will I set a particular target. The most important thing is that students be honest when taking the national exams,' he said during a dialogue with dozens of Jakarta senior high school students in Central Jakarta on Wednesday.

'I'm not worried about targets or results. I don't want them to be encouraged to cheat,' the governor added.

He said it would be the responsibility of each school to help students who fail the exam.

Your comments:

Jokowi has always done extraordinary things. His words are very appropriate for the educational system in Indonesia. If students cheat, then they just want to pass and are unconcerned with their future. They trade their souls just for an exam.

Ikariz Kimp

A person's success cannot be gauged by good scores on an exam, especially if it is obtained from cheating.

Success comes only through the honest use of a person's innate ability.

Oktriana Leni

Honesty is the source of happiness and success. Honest students will make for honest leaders who can say no to corruption, something that is vital for the improvement of the nation.

Nurtyas Mei

The National Exams do more than measure student performance. They also show if the students have integrity or not.

Tiup

Asking students not to cheat is like asking monkeys not to climb trees.
