T Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI), the authorizeddistributor of Hino commercial trucks and buses, expects total sales willincrease by about 16 percent to 40,000 units this year from 34,500 last yearand from 24,700 the year before.
HMSI sales promotion director Santiko Wardoyosaid that to meet sales targets, the company would launch new truck models andopen between 20 and 30 new outlets.
'In the first quarter of this year, thesales of the Ranger medium trucks fell 10 percent  from 5,364 to 4,660 the same quarter of thisyear,' he told
Antara. He attributed the fall to a the decline in orders from miningcompanies, many of which have reined back operations due to falling coalprices.
On the other hand, the sales of the Dutrolight commercial truck increased 6 percent from 3,400 in the first quarter of2012 to 3,600 this year.
